Smith Moves to Random House

Ileene Smith, most recently an executive editor at Henry Holt, has been named a v-p, senior editor in the Random House Trade Group.

Smith joined Scribner in 2001 and in October of 2002 was named an executive editor at Holt, focusing on nonfiction and some literary fiction. Among the authors she has worked with are Kingsley Amis, Aharon Appelfeld, Diane McWhorter and Oliver Sacks. Smith has been awarded the Tony Godwin and the PEN/Roger Klein editorial awards. She was a Jerusalem Fellow and has also written a children's book, Moses and the Angels.

A Holt spokesperson said the company is looking for a replacement for Smith.
