New Book by 'Paris 1919' Author

The prize-winning history Paris 1919, about the WWI peace terms that led to a generation of further strife, has become a surprise bestseller for Random House, and now its author, Toronto historian Margaret MacMillan, has been signed to another book by editor Joy deMenil. It's called Nixon in China, and zeroes in on the momentous 10 days the late president spent there with Henry Kissinger and Chou En-Lai, trying to set to rest decades of distrust and setting the scene for the rapprochement that has lasted until now. DeMenil bought U.S. rights from agent Emma Parry at Carlisle & Company, acting for the author's London agent, Caroline Dawney at Peters Fraser & Dunlop, who controls world rights.
