Nonfiction Notes

by Staff -- Publishers Weekly, 2/10/2003

February Publication

Following up on The Publishing Game: Bestseller in 30 Days (which was a Writers Digest Book Club selection), Fern Reiss presents her latest strategic program for would-be authors: The Publishing Game: Find an Agent in 30 Days. "[A]nyone who has the stamina and energy to write a book can easily write a proposal that will hook an agent," she states, and that positive attitude infuses her week-by-week and day-by-day plan. Reiss's advice is wholly pragmatic, whether it's how to create a marketing plan to convince an agent that your book will sell or "good places to cruise" to meet agents in person. Aspiring authors will find a trove of useful information here to aid and abet them in their search for a literary agent. (Peanut Butter and Jelly Press, $19.95 paper 224p ISBN 1-893290-83-2)

Correction: Pete Dunne on Bird Watching: The How-to, Where-to, and When-to of Birding by Pete Dunne is the correct title (Forecasts, Jan. 27).
