A Female 'Corrections'?

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 3/17/2003

That's how agent Elaine Koster is characterizing an impressive first novel revolving around a Catholic family in New Jersey, which she just sold, after a two-day auction, to Shaye Areheart for her own imprint at Crown/Harmony Books. It's called Within Arm's Reach, and author Ann Napolitano is an MFA graduate from NYU and a former writing student of Blanche McCrary Boyd. Areheart got North American, first serial and audio, and, meanwhile, the book has already made sales in the U.K. and Spain, with Chandler Crawford handling foreign rights.
