Judy Wilson, 63

Judy Vantrease Wilson died March 14 after a battle with cancer. She was 63. Wilson began her publishing career in 1961 at Encyclopaedia Britannica, and shortly after joined John Wiley, where she became publisher of the professional group. While there, she established the Wiley Press and Wiley Professional Software. In 1988, Wilson moved to the Macmillan Children's Book Group, where she became president and general manager. Most recently, she was the president of Orchard Books, from which she retired in 2001. Donations can be made in her name to The Calvary Fund, 1740 Eastchester Ave., Bronx, N.Y. 10461. A memorial service will be held later this spring.
