Burns to Leave Ingram

by Jim Milliot -- Publishers Weekly, 4/14/2003

Julie Burns will be leaving the Ingram Book Group at the end of the month to join a multimedia company founded by her brother-in-law 18 months ago. Burns joined Ingram in 1990 and was named president of the Ingram Book Co. in June 2001. Last September, Burns added the title of president of Ingram's religion distribution unit, Spring Arbor.

Ingram has no plan to bring in anyone to replace Burns. Jim Chandler, Ingram's chief commercial officer, will once again assume the role of president, a position he had held until Burns's promotion two years ago. Janet McDonald, who has been head of the Spring Arbor sales team, will continue to lead that unit and will now report to Chandler.
