Crown Veteran Goes To Sterling Publishing

by Staff -- Publishers Weekly, 5/26/2003

Andrew Martin, the longtime Crown associate publisher who lost his job in a reorganization there in the fall, has been named publisher of Sterling.

The B&N–owned house had no one in that position previously, but company president Charles Nurnberg said he has "been on the lookout to find a publisher who can help unify and strengthen our various publishing lines and brands, identify future opportunities and ultimately help us grow as a company." Martin, who started May 21, will report directly to Nurnberg. Martin is the second former Crown employee to get a new job this month; Linda Loewenthal was hired as an agent at the David Black agency several weeks ago.

Donahue Moves to Crown

Meanwhile, Martin and Loewenthal's old employer has also made a new hire: Crown Forum, the conservative imprint formed from Prima Forum and Crown's conservative titles, has hired Jed Donahue as editor. He comes from Regnery, where he worked with William F. Buckley and Oliver North. Crown has also announced that Brian Belfiglio, who oversees publicity, and Jill Flaxman and Alex Lencicki, who work on marketing, will expand their duties to include Crown Forum.
