Actress Shirley MacLaine is no stranger to the book world, having penned half a dozen bestsellers over the years, from memoir to New Age spiritual explorations. Now she's back on the scene with a new project and a new publisher: a book called Out on a Leash: Exploring Reality and Love, which she is "co-authoring" with her pet terrier, Terry, with each providing insights into the other's life. This was sold to Atria publisher Judith Curr by agent Mort Viner, and plans are to publish in October. Curr calls the combination of owner and pooch "utterly charming, witty and ultimately wise."
