Where is he, some might wonder? It is the fastest selling book in the land; it was the book to buy on Saturday, June 21. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix would certainly be the #1 book on PW's charts this week if it weren't for the fact that we separate our adult and children's bestseller lists. (For more on the Potter phenomenon, see News, p. 9.) Suffice it to say that the gulf between Potter sales and those for our #1 adult fiction title, The Da Vinci Code, is vast—one East Coast independent reported selling more than 1600 copies of the Harry Potter, and 37 of The Da Vinci Code."
