New RH Deal for 'Prague' Author

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 7/28/2003

Prague by Arthur Phillips was a hit last year for editor Lee Boudreaux at Random House (it's still going strong in paperback), and now she has signed the young author to a two-book deal said to be in the low seven figures. The first of the two books, which she signed for world rights with agent Marly Rusoff, is an untitled novel about a 1920s Egyptologist whose fake claim of the discovery of a royal tomb ruins his life. Boudreaux describes it as "witty, inventive and brilliantly constructed." Random's Claire Tisne is handling foreign sales.
