Straub's Next Thriller for Random

A thriller by Peter Straub, a horror tale with supernatural overtones, In the Night Room, was signed by senior editor Lee Boudreaux at Random House. It concerns an author of children's books whose husband and daughter are killed in a freak accident and who finds herself, in her next book, writing details of the happening that she couldn't possibly have known about. The North American rights buy was from David Gernert at his own company, and planned publication is in fall of next year.
