S&S Wins Auction for 'Prada' Follow-up
by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 8/11/2003
The house's MarySue Rucci emerged the victor in a hot auction for the next novel by Lauren Weisberger, author of the popular tale of a young female urban striver in the thrall of a demon fashion editor in The Devil Wears Prada. Rucci paid a reported seven figures for North American rights in an untitled sequel to Deborah Schneider at Gelfman & Schneider, topping several publishers, including Doubleday's Stacy Creamer, the buyer of Prada.
