Olga Litowinsky

Editor and author Olga Litowinsky died July 20 after a long illness. She was 67. During her career , Litowinsky worked for Viking, Macmillan and Scribner. She was executive editor at Delacorte Press and Dell for more than 10 years, beginning in 1978; while there, she directed the publication of Yearling Classics, and two of the books she edited received the American Book Award. In 1990, she became executive editor at Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers and launched the department's first hardcover and paperback fiction list. Some of the authors she worked with include Richard Peck and Patricia Reilly Giff.
