Marilyn E. Marlow

Literary agent Marilyn E. Marlow, executive v-p at Curtis Brown Ltd., died August 25 from complications from cancer. She was 75. Marlow began her career in 1957 at Harcourt, Brace; she moved to Curtis Brown in 1959, where she remained for the rest of her career. She was particularly known for representing authors of groundbreaking books for teenagers, such as S.E. Hinton and Robert Cormier. Her large roster of clients also included Rumer Godden, Clement Hurd (along with his wife, Edith, and son, Thacher), Paul Zindel, Karen Cushman, Jane Dyer, Jane Yolen and Patricia McKissack. A memorial service will be held in New York City; the date will be announced.
