Tab Hunter Tells All

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 9/15/2003

Any moviegoer over a certain age remembers Tab Hunter, a golden-boy leading man in the late 1950s and early '60s, who, it turns out, was living an off-screen life as a closeted gay man, like his contemporary Rock Hudson. Hunter has now signed to write all about it in a book for Simon & Schuster, where Chuck Adams bought an untitled autobiography from Fred Morris at the agency of the late Jed Mattes. The book will be co-written with Eddie Muller, a mystery writer who has also written about Hollywood femmes fatales, and is planned for spring 2005. Hunter promises to write frankly about his on-screen and off-screen life.
