Trent Lott Remembers

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 9/15/2003

The former Senate majority leader, who quit last year amid controversy arising from his remarks in praise of a racist senator, says he is finally giving in to many suggestions that he write a memoir and has signed with Regan Books to do one. Judith Regan made the world rights deal with agent Flip Brophy at Sterling Lord Literistic and will publish next fall. Lott, who remains a Mississippi senator, will cover a life that began in the backwoods of that state, and continued with a long Washington career that has faded since the political firestorm last year.
