The RAND Corp. Story

The RAND Corporation, the think tank that has numbered among its members such current administration figures as Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz and Condoleezza Rice, will undergo close scrutiny in a book called Soldiers of Reason, for which the author, Alex Abella of the Los Angeles Times, has been given full access to RAND's archives—and to members past and present, including the three above. Harcourt's Andrea Schulz made a significant North American rights deal with agent Joseph Regal for what promises to be the first inside story of the organization.
