A Special Day for an Artist

In recognition of Alice Provensen's contributions to children's book publishing, the author/illustrator has been given her own day. September 29, 2003, has been named Alice Provensen Day by the town of Clinton, N.Y., where she has been a longtime resident. To celebrate the day, the Clinton town hall will include a display of her books, Provensen will sign books and posters and presentations will be given by a number of speakers, including historian Leonard S. Marcus, George Nicholson (her agent) and David Gale (her editor).
