Kensington Makes Sales Force Changes

by Staff -- Publishers Weekly, 9/22/2003

Kensington Publishing is expanding and realigning its sales force to include three new commission groups to increase its presence in the independent bookstore, regional and retail distribution markets.

In addition, Sean Hergert, national accounts manager, is expanding his responsibilities to include sales to Koen Book Distributors, Brodart, NACSCORP and Follett. Helen Dressner, formerly of Random House, is joining Kensington as specialty imprint representative to Barnes & Noble. Debby Tobias, director of retail sales, is leaving the company.

The three new reps groups are McGarr Associates, covering the Midwest; Booklink, covering the Southeast; and McLemore/Hollern & Associates, covering the Southwest. Parson Weems Publisher Services and Nancy Suib & Associates will continue to represent Kensington in the Northeast and West. All the groups will report directly to Douglas Mendini, director of trade sales.
