Big Deal for Idaho Editor

Mary Jane Butters edits a rapidly growing national magazine (big in bookstores) called MaryJanesFarm, about organic living for women, from her
Idaho farmstead; she has just scored a two-book deal worth seven figures with Clarkson Potter. Editorial director Pam Krauss signed her for Mary Jane's Gathering Place, for publication in spring 2005, and a sequel. Butters, something of a whirlwind in her field, also has a newspaper column and an organic food company. The North American rights deal was signed with agent David McCormick at Collins McCormick.
