Bookstore Sales Fall 2%

Bookstore sales fell 2.9% in November 2003, to $1.04 billion, according to preliminary estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. Sales for the entire retail market were up 4.9%. For the first 11 months of the year, bookstore sales were up 2.5%, to $14.14 billion, while sales for all of retail increased 5.4%.
