'Insatiable' Critic Tells All

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 2/9/2004

Gael Greene is the longtime New York magazine restaurant critic equally famous for her passions for food and affairs, whose rubric is 'The Insatiable Critic.' So the title of a tell-all memoir she is writing just had to be Insatiable, and her agent, Jane Dystel, decided she would host a party to introduce Greene to interested editors. A group duly turned up on a snowy night, and one of them, Jamie Raab at Warner, was so convinced by the author's charisma that she bought her book at auction a few days later. It was a world rights deal, and Greene promises a feast of wonderful meals, celebrity chefs and restaurateurs—plus, of course, some pillow talk.
