Physics for Everyman

by Daisy Maryles -- Publishers Weekly, 2/23/2004

"This is popular science writing of the highest order" was just one of the raves in PW's starred review of The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time and the Texture of Reality by Brian Greene. "Crisp, witty prose" was another compliment—adjectives not usually applied to string theory in physics. A four-page interview, part of PW's Innovators series, offered lots of details about how the author of the bestselling The Elegant Universe makes theoretical physics interesting to nonscientists. Greene is now doing a 14-city coast-to-coast media tour. Knopf's announced first printing was 125,000 copies.
