Schmidt, Devlin Join Chronicle

Cathleen Schmidt, formerly with S&S's children's publicity, has been named publicity manager for Chronicle Books children's department. In addition, Calla Devlin, formerly with Harper San Francisco, has joined the Chronicle adult trade and gift divisions as a publicist.
Schmidt is a graduate of the University of Denver Publishing Institute. She began her publishing career at Candlewick Press. Besides working in publicity for a decade, Devlin has worked at Powell's City of Books in Portland, Ore., and at Stacey's Books in San Francisco.
