Bookstore Sales Dip

Despite reports from several quarters that the strong holiday season carried into the new year, the U.S. Census Bureau's preliminary estimates show that bookstore sales fell 1.2% in January, to $2.07 billion. Sales for the entire retail sector were up 6.1% for the month.
