Houses Undivided?

by Daisy Maryles -- Publishers Weekly, 4/12/2004

Scribner's latest bestseller, House of Bush, House of Saud: The Secret Relationship Between the World's Two Most Powerful Dynasties, had its genesis in last October's Vanity Fair, in which investigative journalist Craig Unger disclosed several provocative facts concerning the connection between the Bush and royal Saudi families. Published on March 17 (copies in print: 107,500), the book was serialized in five excerpts on Salon.com. Among Unger's numerous media gigs have been two appearances on the new Al Franken radio network, Air America (Mixed Company and Morning Sedition); CNN's The Flipside; and ABC Radio's The Mitch Albom Show. Still to come are The Charlie Rose Show and MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews. More controversy's on the way, as Unger was just interviewed by filmmaker Michael Moore for his new documentary, Fahrenheit 911, due this summer. —With reporting by Dick Donahue
