New President at Indigo Books

by Staff -- Publishers Weekly, 4/19/2004

Indigo Books and Music has named David Margolis to the newly created post of president and chief operating officer. Margolis is moving to Indigo from Winners Apparel and Home Sense, two of Canada's largest discount chains that are both owned by TJX Companies, whose holdings in the U.S. include Marshalls and T.J. Maxx.

At Indigo, Margolis's major areas of responsibility will be in procurement, store operations and real estate. Indigo will be looking to Margolis to "strike the right balance between product selection, in-store service, vendor relationships and operations." He will report to Heather Reisman, Indigo CEO.
