Corrections

by Staff -- Publishers Weekly, 5/24/2004

In "Understanding the Stranger" (Religion Books, May 10), SUNY Press's Nancy Ellegate was quoted as saying that women are oppressed in Islamic cultures. This viewpoint should have been attributed to SUNY author Mohammad Ali Syed, not to Ellegate. Also, a caption for Kregel's Christian Jihad by Ergun Mehmet Caner and Emir Fethi Caner misrepresented the content of the book. It should have read "Looking at Christianity's dark side." We regret the errors.
