HM Wins a Special-Ops Memoir

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 6/14/2004

Houghton Mifflin's Eamon Dolin, declaring the book a potential war classic, won an auction for a memoir by a young Marine captain of his activities as a special operations officer behind the lines in Afghanistan and Iraq. It's called No Tearless Victory by Capt. Nathaniel Fick, and Dolan paid mid-six-figures for North American rights. The five-house auction was run by a new San Francisco agent, E.J. McCarthy. Danny Baror has foreign rights, and Webster Stone at Rugged Land is handling movie offers.
