We're not talking age here—Danielle Steel's latest bestseller, Second Chance, is her 61st book since 1973, when her debut, Going Home, was first published. Her numbers are impressive: more than 530 million copies sold in 47 countries and 28 languages. Delacorte Press launched the latest with 650,000 copies, a hefty number, but lower than the million-copy printings she commanded in earlier years.
