Memoir from 'Six Feet Under'
by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 7/19/2004
One of the writers and producers of the hit HBO dramatic show Six Feet Under, comedienne Jill Soloway, is offering her pithy observations about life, love, dysfunctional families and Hollywood shenanigans in the piquantly titled memoir Why Jews Go to the Bathroom with the Door Open. Free Press senior editor Amy Scheibe swiftly preempted the book from Daniel Greenberg at Levine Greenberg, buying North American, first serial and audio rights, and will publish in fall next year. The prolific Soloway has worked on numerous TV sitcoms, produces a biweekly live comedy show in L.A., and adapted David Sedaris's Me Talk Pretty One Day for the movies.
