'Emergency' for Comic Cho

The comic stage monologist, filmmaker and social activist Margaret Cho is alarmed about the state of the nation, and aims to voice her fears in a new touring show called State of Emergency; that will also be the tentative title of a new book she has just signed with Riverhead president and publisher Julie Grau. In it, Cho will describe her activist experiences (this will be her fourth road show since she hit the scene with I'm the One That I Want five years ago) and examine, in her drily offbeat way, the current state of the American political culture. Grau signed for North American rights with agent David Vigliano and will publish next year.
