Linda Scovill

Linda Ball Scovill, who had a long career in professional publishing, died August 5 at her home in Jacksonville, Ore. She was 63. Scovill began her publishing career at Harvard University Press before moving to New York in 1972 to run the direct-mail operation for George McGovern's presidential campaign. She returned to publishing as head of advertising and promotion for Oxford University Press and held executive spots at Appleton & Lange and Harper & Row before forming her own medical publishing and consulting company, Scovill.Paterson. She was active in the AAP's professional and scholarly publishing division and served as its first female chairperson. Remembrances can be made to the Friends of the Jacksonville Library, P.O.
