Mandel to New FSG Post

Farrar, Straus & Giroux has created the new position of deputy publisher and named Workman's Andrew Mandel to fill it. The company said Mandel will be "responsible for the company's finance, operations, production, sales, and marketing functions, and will work closely with all departments to enhance FSG's performance." Sources said that the move is the next phase in the post–Roger Straus era, giving more structure to a house that has long had a more informal character. Straus died in late May.
