Crime Anthology Moves to Ecco

by John Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 9/6/2004

An annual anthology called The Best American Crime Writing, edited by Otto Penzler and Thomas H. Cook, has moved to Ecco in a deal orchestrated by Harper's Dan Conaway and Jill Schwartzman. They made the North American rights buy from agent Nat Sobel at Sobel and Weber to move the series from Pantheon and Vintage, where it had previously resided. They also announced a starry lineup of upcoming annual guest editors, to follow this year's Joseph Wambaugh: James Ellroy in 2005, followed by Mark Bowden and Ann Rule.
