A Veteran Duo

by Daisy Maryles -- Publishers Weekly, 9/13/2004

Julie Garwood is a regular on the bestselling charts —she's had 19 national bestsellers and the in-print total for her books is more than 32 million. Her latest suspense novel from Ballantine Books, the hardcover Murder List, lands in the #3 slot with 227,000 copies in print after two trips to press.

New at #4 is High Druid of Shannara: Tanequil by Terry Brooks, the sequel to last year's Jarka Ruus (it was on our hardcover chart for one month). Brooks's first book, The Sword of Shannara, was published in 1977; since then he has written 23 novels selling more than 25 million copies worldwide. Del Rey's first printing for the newest is 120,000 copies and the author is touring through mid-October, visiting 10 cities.
