That's the hot-button subject of another nonfiction debutant this week, Treachery: How America's Friends and Foes Are Secretly Arming Our Enemies by Bill Gertz, the defense and national security reporter for the Washington Times. According to Crown publicity director Brian Belfiglio, Matt Drudge was the first to break the news of the book, on his Web site on the book's September 7 pub date. The next day, Rush Limbaugh read from the book on his talk show, and Gertz appeared on The Sean Hannity Show and Hannity & Colmes. The author is booked, said Belfiglio, for "a barrage of cable and talk-radio interviews through October." Two trips back to press have increased the Crown Forum book's 38,000-copy first printing to 77,000.
