Brody Retires; Largen to Head Brodart

by Staff -- Publishers Weekly, 9/20/2004

Sixty-five years after founding Brodart, the library book and supply company, Arthur Brody, the company's CEO since 1939, relinquished the reins at the end of August. Joe Largen, president and COO of Brodart, has taken over the direction of Brodart and will become chairman of the board in addition to his other duties.

In a statement on his retirement, Brody said, "I sincerely appreciate everyone who has helped Brodart grow from a one-person operation to the national company serving libraries. I feel certain that under Joe's leadership, the company will continue to grow and succeed."
