'Raising Cain' Author on Girls

The bestselling author of Raising Cain; Protecting the Emotional Lives of Boys has now turned his attention to young girls, and Rodale's Leigh Haber was quick off the mark to pre-empt him. The author is Dan Kindlon and his new book is called Alpha Girls: Understanding the New American Girl and How She Will Change the World. As his title suggests, Kindlon is convinced that today's teenage girls are more self-confident and assertive than any previous generation. Haber bought North American rights from Suzanne Gluck at William Morris, and plans to publish in January 2006.
