Chicken Soup for the Religious Soul

by Karen Raugust -- Publishers Weekly, 10/18/2004

NAVPress/Pinion Press is publishing a Chicken Soup for the Soul Bible under license from Chicken Soup for the Soul Enterprises and agent SloaneVision Unlimited. "We were looking for the opportunity to put the Bible into people's hands who have perhaps never held a Bible before," said Terry Behimer, editorial director. "Chicken Soup for the Soul was a good format for that." The book is released under the Pinion Press imprint, which targets ABA stores; NAV Press focuses on the CBA market. The Bible contains the full New Living Translation, with Chicken Soup essays illustrating some of the Bible stories. "It has a Chicken Soup feel to it—warm, accessible, friendly," said Behimer.
