Leary's Irish Ass

That's what the actor and comedian Denis Leary invites his readers to kiss in another new signing at Viking, for an irreverent memoir about growing up Catholic and the perils of fame and fortune, bluntly titled Kiss My Irish Ass. Leary has had hit one-man shows on TV, has been a busy producer and screenwriter as well as an ace fund-raiser, and has appeared in often ribald roles in more than 25 movies. He was signed for world rights by Viking president Clare Ferraro; it took a lot of co-signers to get the book nailed down, including Lydia Wills at Paradigm; Jim Serpico, Leary's business partner; and a law firm. Molly Stern will be the book's editor, for publication in 2006.
