Bookstore Sales Slip in November

Bookstore sales fell again in November, although the decline was the smallest drop since July. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, sales fell 1.9% in the month, to $1.07 billion; sales for the entire retail segment rose 8.9% in November. For the 11-month period, bookstore sales were off 0.9%, to $14.56 billion, compared to a 7.8% sales increase for all of retail.
