English Roses Blossom

by Karen Raugust -- Publishers Weekly, 2/7/2005

Madonna's first book, The English Roses, published by Callaway Editions, sowed a high-end licensing program in late 2004, with apparel, collectible dolls, teas and tea sets, hot chocolate, charm bracelets and other products selling in tony shops, notably Nordstrom. "It was a great brand to offer to girls at the high end," said Matt Hautau, v-p licensing and marketing for Signatures Network, the property's licensing agent. Licensing will expand in late 2005, when Callaway expects to release a sequel.
