'No Logo' Klein on Iraq

by John F. Baker -- Publishers Weekly, 3/28/2005

Canadian journalist Naomi Klein's No Logo became a kind of bible of the antiglobalist movement, as well as an international bestseller, a couple of years ago, and now Holt's Metropolitan Books has signed Klein for a book in which she will take on what she sees as the real motivations, economic and political, for the Iraq war. The untitled work, an expansion of a series of hard-hitting articles Klein wrote for Harper's, will also examine the American efforts to create in Iraq a free-market capitalist economy based on its own model. Frances Coady made the U.S. rights deal (the book is already sold in Canada) with Amanda Urban at ICM and will publish in fall of next year.
