A Shining Star

May 19 is opening day for the sixth and final George Lucas Star Wars movie, Episode III Revenge of the Sith and, judging by the performance of the eponymous book tie-in, box-office stats could be spectacular. The book hit the PW list in the #2 position (it was a very tight race with #1). Del Rey, which had been planning a 500,000-copy first printing, upped it to a final first of 650,000 copies. The 14-city tour, featuring the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming club, has been expanded to 20 cities. Author Matthew Stover is keeping a live tour blog on AOL Moviefone and event giveaways include Yoda pins (see pic above) and a special DVD produced by Random House audio that documents the making of the Star Wars Revenge of the Sithe-book.
