Novelist Carl Hiaasen received a special honor from Knopf chairman Sonny Mehta at the Random House Fall sales Conference. He was named an honorary Borzoi and presented with a blazer embroidered with a custom-designed crest that reads: Man of Letters, Champion of Causes--in Latin, no less.
