Publicists Looking & Leaping

Jane Friedman did it. So did Gina Centrello. Publicity directors have long been trading up for prominent executive positions. But how about going from publicity to an acquiring role? Suzanne Herz's jump this week from publicity director to the head of a new Doubleday Broadway imprint, Flying Points Press, is an unusual—but not uncharted—move. Some others who made the leap.
