Google Library Battle Rages On… At NYPL

by Staff, PW Daily -- Publishers Weekly, 11/11/2005

It's the one word that's been on the minds and lips of journalists and industry members for the past few weeks and now it's being discussed, yet again, at the New York Public Library. On November 17 at 7 pm "The Battle of the Books" will allow a panel including journalists, publishers and a Google rep to talk about the company's controversial scanning program. The event will feature, among others: AAP v-p of legal affairs Allan Adler; Wired editor-in-chief Chris Anderson; NYPL president and CEO Paul LeClerc; and Google v-p of corporate development David Drummond. For tickets, which cost $15, call 212-868-4444 or log on to www.smarttix.com.
