Prebich Named to Head Dorchester Publishing

by Staff, PW Daily -- Publishers Weekly, 12/16/2005

John Prebich, president and CEO of Dorchester Media, has been given the additional title of president of Dorchester Publishing. The change puts him in charge of both of Dorchester's magazine group and its mass market paperback group which had been headed by George Sosson, who is leaving Dorchester after five years with the company.

John Backe, chairman of both companies, said Prebich's appointment is an opportunity to more closely align and grow the two companies. Prebich noted that "our objective remains to expand our business both within the U.S. and internationally and to explore ancillary opportunities that arise from the close relationship between the media group and the book publishing group."

Dorchester's primary book group is its Leisure Books imprint, while Dorchester Media publishes 20 lifestyle/entertainment magazines.
