BenBella Books has promoted Leah Wilson from associate editor to editor and Laura Watkins from director of marketing and publicity to v-p of marketing and publicity.

Jack Kuhatschek has been named editorial director of Baker Books. Kuhatschek leaves his post as executive editor at Zondervan for the job.

Holly Bemis has joined Houghton Mifflin as assistant director of publicity. Bemis was most recently publicity manager at Basic Books.

Decamping from Viking Penguin where she was associate director of publicity, Judi Powers has joined DK Publishing as director of marketing and publicity. Powers, who has worked on campaigns for authors Sue Monk Kidd and Dava Sobel, also held posts earlier in her career at Walker & Co. and Facts on File.

Gabrielle Brooks and Sheila O'Shea have both been promoted at Knopf. Brooks has been bumped up from director of promotion to v-p, director of promotion and serial rights, while O'Shea has been promoted from publicity manager to associate director of publicity.

Brodart has named Arden Olson director of sales for its books and automation division. Olson was most recently director of sales for college stores at Baker & Taylor.

Doris Cooper has joined Clarkson Potter as editorial director, leaving her post as senior editor at the Simon & Schuster imprint Touchstone/Fireside. Cooper, who's worked on a number of lifestyle titles, was a senior editor at Morrow before joining S&S.
